Wooden cigar boxes

Wooden cigar boxes are very useful. Because they are sturdy and built with superior craftsmanship, their possible uses are endless. There are small boxes where you can place CDs, clips or pencils. Size increases to large briefcases, in these people can store walkmans, albums, hardcopies, even portable computers.

The larger the box, the harder they are to get. There are some strong cardboard boxes that can have some uses, they are excellent for everyday activities like the place where the remote control is stored. But the wooden kind really are the ones people fight over. There are many kinds of boxes, some come in the finest woods available. Because they were made to hold fine cigars, the aroma of delicate tobacco leafs and precious wood are hard to resist, that is why some people turn their small wooden cigar boxes into sachets by adding oils, flowers and leaves.

One original use for wooden cigar boxes is handbags. The interior of the boxes are cleaned of any smell. Who wants her personal cosmetics smelling to Monteristo? If leaving the box open for several days doesn't do the trick, you can try with old newspapers or a piece of coal charcoal. If those don't work either get the odor absorbers that are sold in stores for refrigerators. Then the interior is filed with linen, some accessories are added like mirrors and compartments for practical use. The outside is heavily coated with varnish and other protectors for everyday use. Handles are also decorated and firmly attached to the box. They close tightly and because they open all the way, things can easily be found. There are some people that leave them looking like a plain wooden cigar box, and others decorate them concealing their origin. Some of these handbags are sold for $80 dollars and up to $200.

Wooden cigar boxes that were made in Cuba are illegal items. If you sell them or buy them you could end up 10 years in prison. If you bought one of these boxes outside the United States and didn't bring it home you would be fined with $250,000 dollars anyway. So if you ever see a Cuban cigar box, run the other way!
