Cigar shop
A cigar shop online is what "tobacconist shops" are in the brick and mortar stores. Many brands are available for your purchase.
You will need to know the main types of cigars available at any cigar shop:
Parejos, are the common cigar, straight in shape. The other category is Figurados, where all the other cigars that are not straight are placed.
Of Parejos, the main sub-categories are Coronas, Panatelas and Lonsdales. Which will depend on length and circumference.
Figurados sub-divide in Belicoso, Pyramids and Diademas. Although originally they defined size and shape, only Cuba is faithful to the true definitions.
This is why a cigar can have so many names, you can smoke a Cohiba Corona, or Cohiba Lonsdales, they are referring to the size of the cigar, so next time you walk into a cigar shop you will know how to ask for what you want.
Of course, there is Grand corona, Petit Corona, long Corona, etc. Also, some names are interchangeable, a Robusto is a Royal Corona, for example.
Some other names of shapes (not name of the cigars) are Almuerzos, Britancas, Cadetes, Carlotas, Campanas, Carolinas, Cazadores, Cervantes, Coronas, Coronas Gordas, Coronas Grandes, etc.
In a cigar shop you can purchase any cigar you want. Be a good buyer, and have in mind that the larger the cigar, the cooler it is. Hot cigars become bitter so the larger the better a cigar is. Unfortunately, the longer they are the harder are they to make, so price will go up with longer cigars. The circumference of the cigar also says a lot, the wider a cigar the richer and tastier it is.
Cigars can be stored for a considerable amount of time, so don't be scared if they say they have an excellent 5 year old cigar. What you need to check is the cigar's condition, check to see if it has cracks from dryness or mold. A white crystal forms in old cigars as essential oils come to the surface, this is a sign of quality in strong cigars.
Also the color will give the cigar another name. Maduro is a dark brown cigar, typical in a Cuban cigar, has a sweet taste. A Colorado Maduro is dark reddish brown, usually from cigars produced in Honduras. Colorado is reddish Dark brown used on matured cigars. Dominican Republic usually go with the Colorado Claro, a light brown color. Claro is light brown, has a neutral flavor. Double Claro is done with very tender leafs, you can see them still a little green. They are very mild.
